Have you ever thought of this? - God knows exactly when to withhold or to grant us any visible sign of encouragement. That is how my devotional started off this morning...that is a pretty big thought to think about. God truly does know exactly what we need and when we need it. He longs for us to realize that the Bible is more real and dependable that any evidences that our senses may reveal. It also stated "Those who are most inclined to trust God without any evidence except His Word always receive the greaetest amount of visible evidence of His love" Interesting...I'm still trying to wrap my thoughts around that one.
As God is teaching me right now to trust in Him...I need to remember "that God has a fixed time and an ordained purpose, and He who controls the limits of our lives also determines the time of our deliverance" He never does give us more than we are able to handle, and for that I am thankful.
What does my faith/trust in God look like? I know it is not where it needs to be, and Lord Jesus, I pray that you will help me in my unbelief. Please fill it with trust in You~!
Psalms 112:7b "his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord"
Jeremiah 29:11" For I know the plans I have for you,... plans to proper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future"
God's rod is like a schoolteacher's pointer to a child, pointing out a letter so a child will notice it. In the same way, God points out many valuable lessons to us that we otherwise would never have learned.
Each of us may be sure that if God sends us over rocky paths, He will provide us with sturdy shoes. He will never send us on any journey without equipping us well. - Alexander Maclaren
